Which cows get a dairy bull?

Takes effect the moment you choose it - there is nothing else to press. Your cows are ranked on their own index score and the share you name is taken off the bottom: those cows are marked BEEF on A. Cow Rankings and get no dairy recommendation. It never puts more than half the herd on beef.

Optional, and it moves no index points. Everything else here is GENETIC MERIT - what your cows should be capable of. This is the only place you can tell us what they actually do, which is what lets D. Herd Progress say whether a gap is management or genetics.

Block calving makes fertility the single biggest priority.
This works both ways: say so if you want MORE frame, not less.
Under review, and it changes nothing. The robot suitability checks read question 5 of the nine above, not this. The three figures below are recorded for the advisory conversation and are not used in any calculation.

This sets how much of your hundred points goes to Lameness. You are asked separately what lameness costs you -- that answer sets a guardrail instead.

This sets the Calf survival priority. It covers tagging to 10 months, excluding stillbirths and deaths in the first day.

Order matters. The first one you pick counts for most. These are the same ten the engine scores, so whatever you pick here arrives ranked in the same words on 3. Confirm Priorities . The three in the second group still add weight to Health, but SireWise scores no trait for them, so they cannot be ranked.

Guardrails

A guardrail refuses any bull whose daughter would fall below a line you set. These are suggestions -- nothing is applied until you confirm it.

Tick anything you are already managing a problem with - often something your vet has flagged. Ticking it does not chase improvement; it stops the engine offering a bull whose daughter would come out below that cow's own current level.

Pedigree related screen

Which matings the pedigree rules removed, and which part of which pedigree did it. Exact recorded identifiers are compared; two animals with similar names are never treated as the same animal, and missing ancestry never establishes that a mating is unrelated.

These limited pedigree checks do not calculate the calf's inbreeding percentage or genomic relationship.

Read these as a set. Each row holds every other trait still, so the negative milk row means more litres at unchanged fat and protein — water.
What these figures are, and are not

Expected calf PTAs, not a calf's performance. A reconstruction of a published index on a monetary scale, not a farm-profit forecast and not your own index. Correlated traits cannot be given separate causal prices by a good fit alone. Check your contract, costs and replacement numbers before acting. Model details: ROI_CALCULATOR_EVIDENCE.md .

File formats

Where your files come from
AHDB reports use Identity as the stable animal key, Line as a display number, and Herd as the herd identifier. Naming the source lets SireWise map those without guessing.
Changing these affects the NEXT upload. Re-upload from 1. Your Data to apply them.

Supporting views not in the live workflow

Cow Summary, Top N per Cow, Bull Ranking Chart, Score Breakdown, Risky Pairs and Saved Runs are retained in the codebase. They will be reintroduced only after their role is agreed and browser-tested.
